Fictional Narrative Assignment: Rough Draft
You will now have an opportunity to write your own fictional short story (5–7 pages), focused on the possible outcomes of contemporary scientific or technological advancements that might be morally or ethically questionable.
As you write, think about the narrative elements listed above. How can you invest your reader in your characters and plot? What contextual information does your audience need for the story to make sense? How can you build suspense, and what details are needed to make your reader feel like he or she is part of your story?
You will be turning in first a rough draft and then a final draft for this assignment. Submit your rough draft here to be reviewed by your instructor; he/she will return it to you with any comments and suggestions. You cannot begin working on your final draft until your rough draft has been reviewed and returned to you with feedback.
The following rubric will be used to grade your rough draft.
