Social media is playing a crucial role in present time. It is connecting people of distant places. People are posting their information on social media. They share their vacation pics and working pics. They try to influence others.
Social media has become a medium of getting job opportunities also. Various interviews can be conducted on social media itself. During the period of lockdown, social media was an influential medium of communication.
Many business houses have recognized the power of social media and they prefer to promote their products through social media platform. People can provide feedback in short span of time. A discussion can also take place on social media platform.
People argue with each other on various topics. Social media is becoming negative for human relationships. People may have thousands of friends on social media but they do not interact with them in reality.
Social media is causing degradation of charm of human interaction. News of data breaching is another potential danger associated with use of social media.
People compare their lives with other. It is causing depression in common people. If a person spends too much time on social media then it becomes a reason for his/her health degradation.
It disrupts his/her sleeping patterns. Functionalism says that this society is like a machine and different part remains connected with each other. When these connected parts work in a smoother manner then only smooth running of society can be ensured.
Social media connects different elements of society. It depends totally on us that how we use this platform. If a person starts posting fake news on social media platform then it can produce anarchy in whole society.
A person should be analysed from his real goodness and qualities. Person’s social media profile can not symbolise his/her qualities in true manner.
Social media can produce conflicts if it is not handled in a proper manner. There remains a need to have a control on social media content. Social media is like a powerful tool of expression and it’s suitable use depends on our own capabilities. It must be used with full responsibilities.
