The film The Butler is unique in that it demonstrates the different ways in which members of similar underprivileged social classes respond to inequality and injustice. Discuss these different approaches, give examples from the film, and compare the benefits and risks of each.
Perceptions of Social Stratification
Describe the social class(es) that you perceive to hold membership in (and if that has changed over your lifetime). How does that impact your life in positive or negative ways? Use examples. Has your study on this topic changed your perception about the impact of social stratification? Explain these changes and any differences you think that will make in how you interact in this stratified society.
