This report will be based on the pooled data from the entire class, not just the data you collected. You will need to prepare a Method and Results section. Please refer to Week 5 materials for information about writing a Method and Results section of an APA style paper. Included with the material are actual samples of these sections taken from real empirical articles. BE SURE TO REVIEW THESE BEFORE YOU BEGIN WRITING YOUR METHOD AND RESULTS FOR EXPERIMENT 1. Even though you were not asked to compute frequencies for gender, age, and jury service variables for Assignment 4, you will need the frequency data for these variables to describe your participants in the Method section. For Results, you will describe the t tests for the 2 major independent variables (guilt rating and punishment severity) and the cross-tabulation results for the guilty/not guilty variable (you just need to report percentages of participants in the eyewitness and no witness conditions who would have rendered a guilty or not guilty verdict). If you want – NOT REQUIRED – you may summarize some of the comments made by participants in each of the two witness conditions regarding factors that influenced their decision making. You will NOT be performing any statistical analysis of these comments as they are qualitative in nature.
