As you revise your draft, follow these steps:
Carefully review the comments you received from peers in the workshop.
Read other creative works and comments on the discussion board. Look for what others have said in the workshop that could also apply to your project.
Consider what suggestions you will follow and what suggestions you will not follow. You are responsible for the creative decisions you make in preparing your final version. No one should say, “I did everything my peers suggested, so the story should be perfect now.”
Brainstorm ideas for incorporating some of the feedback/suggestions, or ideas you have for revision. This may include doing a freewrite around a scene or a character, adding a new significant detail, or rearranging the order of your material. Use vivid imagery and specific details to make the places you write about suggestive of your theme.
View the rubric to be sure you understand how you will be graded for this assignment and make appropriate revisions. Your final version of the creative work should demonstrate at least 25% new or substantially changed writing.
Do a final proofreading polish, looking for typos and grammatical or formatting issues. Observe the conventions of Standard English (unless you break the rules for a discernible, justifiable artistic reason).
Save your revised draft with a new name as a Microsoft Word file, and submit it here.
Optional: Write a note in the comments to explain what conventions you used, what theme you were striving to convey, why you used certain words and/or grammatical style—especially if it intentional strays from Standard English Usage, etc. This will help your instructor grade your work.
