First, watch the two short embedded videos on Safe Injection Facilities. (They exist in Canada and in Europe; cities in the United States have proposed facilities, but they have yet to be approved. Philadelphia is the latest US city pushing for a SIF.) (No drugs are supplied in the facility, just sterile needles, counseling, and treatment if an overdose occurs.)
Scenario: A Safe Injection Facility has been proposed for Hampton Roads. As a “Hampton Roads” council member, you will vote on the authorization or denial of the facility. Will you vote to approve the facility for a two-year trial run or deny the facility altogether? Why or why not? Use logic (logos) and emotion (pathos) to support your position
