Question 1
What is the difference between informative and persuasive speeches?
The biggest difference between informative and persuasive speeches is the purpose of the speech. According to the article, Neutral point of view, “Informative speeches describe knowledge about a particular event, process, object, or concept” (Informative vs. persuasive speeches). An informative speech aims to make the audience fully understand whatever knowledge you are trying to inform them about. Whereas “Persuasive speeches are those that seek to have the audience share a belief or feeling about a particular event, process, object or concept” (Informative vs. persuasive speeches). It doesn’t seem like a super obvious difference, but it is an important difference.
