The Alexander Article

After reading the Alexander article, answer the prompts below. You can do more research on this topic if you would like, and I encourage it. If you use any information from other sources, make sure that you cite it and provide a “works cited” page. If you cite Alexander, make sure that you cite her article.
1) Alexander argues that the “War on Drugs” started by Reagan play a role in “mass incarceration” of blacks and Latinos. Explain her argument and whether you agree or disagree with her argument. Be sure to give at least two examples from her law review article that you either agree or disagree with and explain why.
2) Do you agree or disagree with Alexander’s argument that people who have served time in prison are prevented from re-entering society in a meaningful way? Why or why not? Explain your answer fully and be sure to support it with examples either from Alexander’s article or your own.
3) Discuss whether you agree with the idea that a “school to prison pipeline” exists. Explain your opinion and support it with details either from Alexander’s article or find your own sources.
I don’t need this paper to be a particular style – you can use either MLA or APA. Make sure that the paper is double-spaced, in 12-point font and with one-inch margins. The paper must be a minimum of 4-5 pages long (longer is okay) and if you include a cover page and/or a works cited page it does not count toward the minimum page requirement.
