Individual Assignment #2: Current Affairs Message to
Different Audiences (10%)

This is an individual assignment (you must work on this

Deliverable:
Your employer (Repallets) recently sent you (Administrative
Assistant) to attend an event where you
heard a great speech delivered by the President of the
Brampton Chamber of Commerce (business
association) about the benefits of employers in Canada
hiring immigrants. It is an issue that you feel
strongly about and believe in.
Based on the speech (see copy of the speech attached),
you will prepare two (2) letters as follows:
1. Prepare a one-page
letter/memo (400 words maximum) to your boss (Ms. Rachel James,
President, Repallets), that
explains why you feel strongly about this issue and why it should
matter to them as well. You are making the case to them
about the benefits of hiring
immigrants. The letter should be in Block format (see pg.
115-116 in textbook).
2. Prepare a one-page email
(250 words maximum) to a professional contact that you have in India
(Miss Nikita Singh), who is considering immigrating to Canada and to work here,
explaining why you feel strongly about this issue and why it should matter to
her as well. You are making the case to her about the benefits of her
immigrating to Canada.
