Chapter I – Introduction1. Include 3 – 5 pages of background. A well problematized focus for the project so the reader understands the existence of the problem and the need for the study2. Cite 4-5 literature review sources that support and guide your thinking about the focus of your project Carefully describe the purpose of the study or the statement of the problem3. Delineate the 3-4 critical research questions accurately and in detail4. Definitions of any terms that may need to be explained to the reader5. An explanation of the audience for the project – who will potentially benefit from this work, why it has the potential to be important to you and other practitioners6. Chapter 1 should be 4 pages in length
Chapter 1 is due 7/16/21
Chapter II – Research Study Methods 1. A description of your plan for the literature review to show organization, depth, and comprehensiveness2. A description of the 10-20 sources consulted: Complete the Literature Review Research Matrix3. Explain how you plan to use the information/data you gain, will you make comparisons, look for themes, etc.Findings4. Divide into major and minor levels (headings) that represent the logical organization of the patterns and themes within the findings.5. Explain how the data/information support the patterns and themes. Using graphic depictions is encouraged.6. Analyze the data/information to present meanings of the patterns and themes. Triangulate data and imagine alternative interpretations.7. Provide a theoretic or conceptual base for the study in light of your research questions, so it’s purposeful and cohesive rather than a presentation of interesting pieces of data.8. Data are put into appendices and clearly labeled so they can easily be found and easily read and understood by the reader (all appendices have a letter and a title such as Appendix A: Time Sample data of Off Task Behaviors, all axes are well labeled on graphs, and all columns are clearly labeled on tables, etc.)9. Appendices are clearly referenced in the text. For example, if you make a statement about time sampling data of off task behaviors reference (see Appendix A) after the statement.10. Chapter II should be 8-10 pages in length.
chapter 2 is due 7/23/21
Chapter III – Discussion, Conclusions and Recommendations1. Summarize the study up to this point and reiterate the research questions.2. Using the research questions as a guide, discuss what the data means. Develop a coherent discussion of what the data revealed, how you know that, and what you believe to be the implications of your findings.3. Draw conclusions from this discussion. You might even make a bulleted list. This is the bottom line, what did it all mean at the end.4. Discuss what more you wish you knew based on your data analysis and discussion of patterns that emerged.5. Include areas for further research that yours did not cover or that became apparent.6. Make recommendations about next steps beyond your study for what practitioners in the field might do or implement.
Chapter 3 is due 7/30/21
Attached is my literature review proposal that includes what my paper is on- including the history of special ed (4 important court cases/laws) deaf and blind schools being built in the US, and how children were treated that had special needs in the past before all these laws came into play. The references that I have listed any my proposal will need to be used along with other resources
