The core of the paper will be the development of a plan to implement a new piece of software at a fictitious company. Here is the background:
ABC Architects has 3 offices located in Cleveland, Tampa and Colorado.
Their 300 architects and designers are equally dispersed between the three offices.
Each site has a file server with ample storage.
The three sites are connected via AT&T T1 lines.
Software used by the firm include:
AutoCAD2021
Revit2021
Sketchup2020
Office365
The company is facing the following challenges:
They do not have a common standard for how folios (files associated with a single project) are stored.
They have a hard time searching for past projects with similar traits as there is no filing system set up.
Retrieving files from one of the other locations takes a long time over the T1 lines.
There is no consistency around what is stored in each folio.
The challenge: As an MIS consultant, the company has asked you to help them solve their problems. It is up to you to recommend a solution that will solve their current needs as well as their estimated need for the next 5+ years.

Once you have a good understanding of the issues, it will be up to you to research solutions and develop a recommendation. Your final recommendation will include:
A summary of the results of your research around the current issues they are having.
A recommendation (Software and/or Hardware) to solve their issues.
A TCO analysis for the project for 5 years.
A ROI (Return on investment) analysis showing the time to break-even.
