Do some research on the Internet to locate an
informative article about the printing press. As much as you can, locate
responsible sources for this article.

In 100 words, summarize the article. Include key
points that focus on the immense historical importance of this invention and
its impact on the English language, particularly in relation to the linguistic
turning points.

You will use this background information to develop
the presentation in Part 2.

Part 2
Think of yourself as a scribe trying to work through
lines of Chaucers The Canterbury Tales because the type setter
and printer are waiting for your translation. Take a look at the first 10 lines

Translate the 10 lines as well as you can. How did you do? Consider your
understanding of language changes and linguistic turning points. Write a
translation of each line in Modern English.
