Identify your topic of interest for the final Argument Paper
Do initial research using general online sources like Wikipedia or Gale
In approximately 200-300 words (min. of 200 words) describe to me:
what the topic is
why you are interested in researching it
Be sure to check the online library databases
(Links to an external site.)
(like ProQuest and EBSCO) to ensure your topic has sufficient scholarly sources available
You will be required to use a minimum of 3 academic or scholarly articles for the two remaining parts of this assignment:
Annotated Bibliography
Final Argument Paper
You do not need to use scholarly sources for this proposal. You are also not required to include a “Works Cited” section for this proposal.
REMINDER! You are using ONLY academic or scholarly sources for the Annotated Bibliography and the final Argument Paper. No other sources will be accepted as references.
There are some academic articles in Gale in Context: Opposing Viewpoints, but they must be tagged as “Academic Journals” and “Peer-Reviewed.” I would prefer that you search the Library Research Databases, like Academic Search Complete (EBSCO) or ProQuest – ALL Databases.
Feel free to research a topic that is closer to your interests for future study. It does not have to be a topic listed in Gale. If you would like to research the effect of the printing press on history or the role of icons in Dostoevsky’s work, please feel free! Your only requirement is that it becomes some form of argument after you have done your reading/research. (And that your sources are academic.)
