For this 4-6 page (double-spaced) paper, you will pick media text (a TV show, YouTuber, Instagram account, movie, book, magazine, etc.) and write a critical analysis of this text and how it impacts society and culture.
You are making an argument, writing about something that you don’t like/you think is incorrect, and you are then arguing how it should change in order to enhance culture and the world. Do you think that the Kardashians or Instagram have contributed to unrealistic beauty standards? Do you think that the TV show “Cops,” that disproportionally features people of color, has a negative impact on how people view criminality and race?
You will have an introduction and thesis, followed by a thorough description of your text. Then you will explain your critiques, and argue for a solution/better approach that the media text should take/should have taken.
