Why do you think diversity is an important organizational perspective for leaders?

USE TEXTBOOK= Johnson, C. E. & Hackman, M. Z. (2018). Leadership: A communication perspective (7thEd.). Long Grove, IL: Waveland Press.

a. Why do you think diversity is an important organizational perspective for leaders?
b. Santa Clara University strives to be a diverse organization (Diversity among faculty, staff, and students). However, many argue (and empirical evidence supports the notion) that SCU isn’t as diverse as it could be. Using some of the techniques and strategies from the lecture/reading, what would you do to help improve the diversity profile for SCU from a leadership perspective?
c. Improving gender diversity and reducing the gender gap is important. If you identify as a woman, what barriers do you feel are placed upon you that may prevent you from advancing in leadership in organizations (if you identify as a man, what barriers do you think exist for women?) How do you think organizational leaders can help to reduce those barriers toward advancement for women?
d. Why must leaders be ethical? If ethics are not always universal, how can leaders be consistent in their pursuit of ethical leadership?
2. Finally, I would like you to read and evaluate the Case Study on page 365 (Box 11.1). This is clearly an ethical dilemma for leaders and members alike. Answer the following questions:
a. How is this an ethical issue?
b. Using one of the ethical perspectives that was discussed in the book (and in the lecture), evaluate the benefits and disadvantages (from an ethical perspective) of moving Uber employees from an independent model to a employee model. Which would be the most ethical model, based on the perspective that you are using?
c. As a consumer of ride share services, do you have an ethical obligation to the people working for the organization? How can you use everyday leadership to provide these workers with support?
