Presenting Problem: You will identify 2 presenting problems for the client in the Angela Batiste case study (see attached). Identify 1 presenting problem that addresses the mental health needs of the client. Identify 1 presenting problem that addresses the social needs of the client.
Use the Treatment Plan template (see attached) for this assignment.
Diagnosis: from the data extracted from the case study, what is the most plausible DSM-V diagnosis? Ensure that you provide a full listing of the client’s symptomology. Utilize the DSM-V and provide a plausible diagnosis based upon the symptomology. Ensure that your rationale is supported by evidence from the DSM-V.
Symptomology Matching: from the symptoms extracted from the case study, compare/contrast them with the list of symptoms outlined in your chosen DSM-V diagnosis.
Medication Review: Based upon your chosen diagnosis, research 3 medications that may be prescribed to the client (utilize both the generic name and name brand). Once 3 medications have been identified, for each medication, identify which symptoms the medication is supposed to control. Then, list 2 major side effects for each medication (utilize an electronic Physician’s Desk Reference {PDR} for assistance).
Assessment Questions: Formulate 2 assessment questions that will assist in choosing the intervention.
Interventions: You will identify 3 interventions for the client in your chosen case study; with 1 being therapeutic and 2 being non-therapeutic in nature. For each therapeutic and non-therapeutic intervention, you examine no fewer than 2 peer reviewed articles that is to substantiate your choice. Summarize each article in no more than 4 sentences.
Outcomes: For each of the interventions that you conceptualized, you are to identify 2 specific outcomes for each intervention.
Narrative: From an evidenced based perspective, how may you engage the client / client’s family (education, advocacy, MDT recommendations, referrals, etc.
Macro Considerations: What macro considerations are imperative to this case? Which Federal / State / Local policies are important to review? Which macro systems are to be considered as to offer further support to the client?
