Jones, in his article “Hiding and Finding: The Challenge of Security Competition,” outlines three trends that he believes affect hiding and finding in today’s power competition. First, he states that the security competition will be global. Second, Russian and Chinese capabilities to hide with undoubtedly improve, presenting more of a challenge to the US. Third, as the US military footprint decreases worldwide, the US will have to increase long range detection capabilities.
