Explain how the relationship between Indigenous people and police be transformed into a more positive one?

Forum 1:
There has been much debate in Canadian society regarding the role, purpose and effectiveness of sentencing circles in Canada. In more recent years we have also seen a decline in their use. Why has there been such a decline? Do you think that sentencing circles have served their purpose and it is time to move on to other methods?
Forum 2:
Over the past twenty years there has been numerous justice inquiries held and reports produced due to injustices involving Indigenous peoples and police. How can the relationship between Indigenous people and police be transformed into a more positive one? Please also comment on another student’s post.
