Search library resources
(databases, journals, etc.) to find scholarly journal articles and other
sources of information on the topic (do not rely solely on web resources). Read
the articles and sources, concentrating on those dealing the conceptual,
theoretical and/or research aspects of the topic.
Write a
very short scholarly paper (about 4 – 5 pages, double-spaced) analyzing the
major issues, trends, and theories of the topic. Include your own assessment of
the relative merits of the ideas you encounter. Your paper should be a cohesive
synthesis of what you have read in the literature. This means you are not to
conduct research or interview for this issue analysis paper. Nor is the paper
merely a collection of your own thoughts or opinions about the issue.
Provide
citation references for any ideas, paraphrasing or direct quotes obtained from
the literature. Include in your references only those items you have cited in
the article to support your statements. Do not include a bibliography. Follow
the APA style manual for appropriate citation and citation referencing format
