Topic:
Dutch and French societies in North America differed in many ways from those established by the English. Using as evidence material from Chapters 1–3, discuss some of those differences, particularly regarding labor systems, attitudes toward Indians, trade relationships, settlement, and notions of freedom.
Research and answer the topic fully in a way that meets the requirements given in the rubric. Make sure to use both the required primary (3) and secondary documents (1), the primary should be from the Freedom Reader Chapter lists unless otherwise approved, and to cite all of your sources properly using Chicago Style footnotes. You also will need to include answers to the Primary Document questions below within your paper.
1500 – 2000 words within the body of the paper. Footnotes and title page do not count towards total.
Paper should use Chicago Style. Footnotes should be used, not in-text citation. Paper should include a title page. Footnotes will suffice, just make sure they contain ALL of the proper information. Bibliography NOT required.
Paper should be typed in a clearly legible font type, font size 12, with 1″ margins. Your paper MUST be saved in a format compatible with Microsoft Word.
