General guidelines for APA format:
Use white 8 ½ x 11” paper. (Word of PDF doc)
Make 1 inch margins on the top, bottom, and sides
The first word in every paragraph should be indented one half inch.
APA recommends using Times New Roman font, size 12.
Double space the entire research paper
Include a page header known as the “running head” at the top of every page. (To make this process easier, set your word processor to automatically add these components onto each page)

Plagiarism is using someone else’s ideas, words, research, or other material as your own without giving proper credit to the source. The instructor may use resources such as Turnitin.com and Google to determine if Academic misconduct has been committed. If 15% or more of your paper is flagged by Google or Turnitin.com as plagiarized, you will be subject to disciplinary action. A student engaging in academic misconduct is subject to disciplinary action by the instructor and by Moorpark College. At a minimum, academic misconduct will result in a grade of zero for the assignment in question. I know you are brilliant individuals who are very capable of doing their own work.
Requirements for theory research papers:
1) Use APA format (see updated syllabus)
2) Length is ten pages (font size and other spacing issues addressed in APA format)
3) Be sure to include onset and signs/symptoms/characteristics of the disorder, diagnosis, prognosis and recommended treatment.
4) You may include case studies that pertain to the selected disorder/mental health issue/phobia.
5) You may add a personal experience that relates to your topic of research.
6) A reference page must be included, but is excluded from the required 10pg. body of your paper.
