Remember that taxes that may be appealing because the tax will minimize deadweight loss may be undesirable for equity reasons. Here is the scenario.
The Florida State Legislators have decided to increase funding for public education. They are considering four alternative taxes to finance these expenditures. All four taxes would raise the same amount of revenue. They have asked each county for their opinion of which option would work best for their county. You have been assigned to research this question, report back and make a recommendation to the Brevard County Commissioners which will be best.
