Labor Relations

For the MGMT 2120 final exam, students are to
write a 1200-word research paper and give an oral summary presentation via
PowerPoint, on how this class will help you, as a manager, succeed in the management
field in the area of labor relations.

Research Paper
The paper should include answers to the following questions,
in paragraph form, in no particular order. However, the paper should flow
smoothly for the reader.

What labor relations is and why it is important
to managers?
·
What are some of the advantages and
disadvantages of unionization?
·
Name and discuss some of the key laws,
regulations, and/or governing bodies that have helped or do help in the
establishment of labor relations in the United States?
·
What are some key issues that affect today’s
workforce in regards to labor relations?
·
Name and discuss some of the major boycotts that
you researched earlier in the semester.
·
What has some of the major boycotts and strikes
in recent years taught us about labor relations and management?
The final paper
should be in a Word document, in MLA formatting, and include at least 2 outside
references other than the materials and links provided in the course. Be sure
to meet all grading rubric requirements to receive full points. If you use any
information from a reference or online source, you must cite your sources in
your paper. Do not submit plagiarized content. You may get a zero for the
assignment or be removed from the course. See the syllabus for more information.
Both paper and
presentation should be submitted electronically to the Final Exam link in
Blackboard.
