The idea is to identify the most interesting aspects about your chosen artwork and clearly communicate them. Youve found a work in a museum that jumps out at you; now the challenge is to convince the reader why it is worth looking at.
All papers should be typed, 2 pages, double spaced, 12 point font and should include: Choose one artwork to write about and follow this format:
1. In a one-two sentence introduction, identify the artist, title, date of the artwork and state your thesis (interpretation).
2. In two-three paragraphs give supporting evidence for your thesis by referencing the aesthetics (composition, color, rhythm, scale etc) and subject matter.
3. Finish with a one paragraph opinion that incorporates and expands on your original thesis.
