This paper is to help you address key issues you have identified that impact the health of (im)migrants.
You will focus on one of the issues discussed throughout the course (e.g. occupational health risks, vulnerabilities experienced by women and children, mental health challenges, or any other health outcome or diseases that you interested in it), in a specific migrant population.
Use what you learned from course materials and from your peers in discussion as the foundation for the paper. You will describe a health disparity and analyze past and current health interventions to address that health disparity and will determine which factors impact the success or failure of those interventions.
The paper should include all of the following:
Introduction including the statement of the health problem situated within a population of interest
Review of the literature relevant to your health issue. Bring some data about the health issue. This should allow the reader to see how your health issue is lodged in the current literature and why this issue is important within your population and how impact them.
The historical context of migration in your population of interest. Describe the key push and pull factors, of migration in that population as well as transnational maintenance of ties, relevant to understanding the health issue you are addressing for the particular (im)migrant group of focus.
SDH model and identifying the determinants of health ( or risk factors) for your topic of interest in your population of interest
Example of Key program, intervention, or solutions you have identified relevant to addressing the health problem of focus in the population you are interested in ( Is this intervention successful for this population?)
Conclusion and your suggestion of what should be done to address this disparity based on understanding the history, the SDH, and existing interventions
