Personality
Personality is considered “who someone is”. Yet, there has often been a designation of personality “disorders” which depart from the norm, or most recently, result in undesirable consequences. How should we define “normal” personality and a personality “disorder”? What qualities and characteristics make it a disorder? Do you believe it is helpful and appropriate to define personality disorders as a pervasive characteristic of who a person “is”? Would you suggest changes to how they are designated and labeled? Be sure to review the DSM and textbook content on this discussion to help you with it. You may want to consider some variations and “symptoms” of specific personality disorders in your discussion as well.
