What specific skills did you use during the engagement phase?

This paper draws upon the student’s skill-building experience as either 1) the family social worker. In this assignment, the student will analyze each phase of the social work process in which he/she engaged during one of the skill-building exercises.

To complete this assignment, please respond to the following:

Engagement: What specific skills did you use during the engagement phase?
Assessment: What techniques and/or tools did you employ to conduct the assessment?
Planning: Describe the planning and contracting in which you and the client engaged?
Intervention (and/or Prevention): Discuss the intervention strategies you (and the client) employed? Identify whether this phase of the process would be described as prevention or intervention and discuss the rationale for your choice.
Evaluation: Discuss how you and your client evaluated (or would evaluate) the effectiveness of the social work process?
Termination: What tasks of termination did you use at the end of the social work process?
Form: The student has the option of completing this paper as a narrative or as a substantive response to each of the questions. Anticipated length of paper: Five to seven pages, typewritten and double-spaced, with appropriate references. Remember – you must use academic sources to back up your case conceptualization and planning.
