Your report will contain an introduction, a discussion that provides information about the historical events related to the question, and a reflection section for your personal writing. You will select one thesis statement from the following options:
The United States emerged as a world superpower after its involvement in World War II and in the aftermath of the Cold War with Russia.
After World War II, the United States became the world’s economic superpower.
Americas technology, from the atomic bomb, through the space program, into the digital age has made it a world superpower.
The content of your report will be guided by your chosen thesis statement, which will be part of your introduction paragraph. The purpose of the thesis is to describe the main points you will prove in the paper. The thesis statement within the introduction asserts directly and succinctly exactly what the paper is about.
