Write a research paper profiling a country of your choice, comparing it to the case study countries covered in class.
For this paper you’ll pick a country (any country, EXCEPT the US, Germany, China, or Nigeria) and do a relatively brief energy profile of it. Here are some parameters that would be useful to discuss in your profile:
What kind of primary energy resources does it have? (oil, NG, coal, uranium, solar potential, wind potential, geothermal potential, etc.)
Are they a net importer or exporter of energy? Where do they import from or export to?
What is the current electricity mix?
Does the country have any policies promoting particular types of electricity generation? In other words, do they use energy subsidies?
Does the country have any policies in regards to energy efficiency?
Which of the countries we’ve profiled in class so far does your country most resemble (US, Germany, China, or Nigeria?) Explain why. It could be a combo of several of these countries, or none of them. The important thing is to justify your answer.
Your paper should use in-text citations (your choice of style) and a bibliography to show your sources.
