Instructions
In 1893, Frederick Jackson Turner declared the American frontier “closed.” After reading his speech and consulting at least 3 other historical sources, write a 2-3 page essay which explains what the American frontier is/was. Give at least 3 well developed examples of the frontier in American history prior to 1877.
You’ll want to be sure to revisit the section on the Syllabus and Course Information page entitled ‘Using Scholarly Sources’ to make sure the sources you do select are something you can use.
