a current event article that they wish to examine using a sociological
theory. Begin by briefly summarizing the current event article in no
more than one paragraph. Next, discuss why the contents of the article
are sociologically relevant. Finally, list and define 4-6 concepts/terms
from the corresponding social theory and apply each term to an aspect
of the article. Note that application of concepts must be done
thoughtfully. “This article is an example of (insert concept here)” will
not suffice without further explanation and elaboration.
Important
Note: the article you choose and corresponding social theory is time
sensitive. Application papers must be on the topic/theorists assigned in
the weeks leading up to the due date and not prior. In other words, for
application paper number 3, you must write about contemporary theories
of modernity. This essay should be a minimum of 3 pages (not including a cover and reference(s) page). All papers should be in proper APA format. Please remember proper in-text citations.
