STAGE THREE: ASSESSMENT AND ARGUMENT CONCEPT PLAN
I. Executive Summary:In approximately 400 words, explain your overall argument concept plan and how your concept engages/alters the way of speaking in the articles you have analyzed. In addition, be sure to explain the overall perspective your articles share and how you narrowed your focus to the particular articles you chose.
II. Cultural and Issue/Product Assessment
Summary: In approximately 300 words, describe how the various elements of your assessment combine to produce an overall view or way of speaking (sensus communis) about your subject or issue in the articles you have analyzed.
Assessment: Choose four modes of assessment,below, that best prepare your audience to support your argument concept plan. Include quotations of key terms and phrases from your appendix in the context of your paragraph. Boldface the quoted terms and phrases.
Presence: In approximately 100 words, describe and explain the key elements that are given presence in the texts you have analyzed.
Association and Dissociation: In approximately 100 words, describe and explain the key connections and separations that are produced in the texts you have analyzed.
Memory/Myth: In approximately 100 words, describe and explain the key event or events from the past or imagined futures through which the present issue is discussed in the texts you have analyzed.
Hierarchy: In approximately 100 words, describe and explain the key hierarchy or hierarchies that are present in the texts you have analyzed.
Drama/Story: In approximately 100 words, describe and explain the main drama or story (in addition to the key dramatic components) in the texts you have analyzed.
Ultimate Terms: In approximately 100 words, describe and explain the ultimate terms in the texts you have analyzed.
Conclusion: In approximately 300 words, explain what this assessment suggests about how one might engage the sensus communis concerning the subject in order to modify it.
III. Argument Concept Plan
Summary (Overall Concept): In approximately 300 words, precisely explain your overall argument concept and how each of your plan elements relates to your overall concept.
Plan Elements: Choose and illustrate five modes of meaning-production (from the list below) and explain how each supports the overall concept.
Presence (Directing the Attention): In approximately 100 words, explain what your plan gives presence to and how it supports the overall concept.
Illustrations: Provide three ways (single sentence each) in which presence could be expressed as proposed. Boldface key terms and phrases.
Association and Dissociation (Putting Things Together and Taking Things Apart, Common Substance): In approximately 100 words, explain what your plan connects and separates and how it supports the overall concept.

Memory/Myth: In approximately 100 words, explain the key event from the past or the imagined future you plan relies upon and how it supports the overall concept.

Conclusion: In approximately 300 words, explain how your plan engages the sensus communis/way of speaking about your issue (in the articles you analyzed) and has the potential to effectively alter it.
IV. Appendix: Provide detailed documentation of your Assessment (Part II, Section B). Each element should be based on (or improve upon) the format used in our heuristic modules. Supply evidence from a range of sources for each component (perhaps think in terms of the five or six best examples/quotes for each element).
V. Works Cited: The works cited page (and all internal text citations) should be formatted according to MLA Style.
