paper ( The strategic role of nuclear weapons in national security )

In this module you are required to write a 2-3 page (not including the cover and reference pages) position paper thoroughly discussing the material presented during the week. APA citations are expected, an abstract is not.
The readings and learning activities in this module address the U.S. military evolution, focusing on the post-World War II Cold War era. We also covered how American’s nuclear arsenal is important to national security, and how this changed from the time of “Massive Retaliation” under President Eisenhower to “Flexible Response” under President Kennedy, and all iterations since then. For this, and all position paper assignments, it is crucial to base your opinions and arguments on research.
In 2013, North Korean General Kang Pyo-Yang stated “If we push the button, the missiles will blast off and their barrage will turn Washington the stronghold of American imperialists and the nest of evil and its followers into a sea of fire.” Focus your paper on the following questions:
Explain the structure and logic of the United States nuclear arsenal.
How do nuclear weapons play a role in the nation’s defense (you may have to look back at the arms race to answer this question)?
Do you find the United States’ current reliance on nuclear weapons in its overall force structure to be appropriate? Explain.
