1) Select one of the following three movies as the subject of your analysis:
“The Great Gatsby” (2013) Starring Leonardo Dicaprio
“The Life of Pi” (2012) Starring Suraj Sharma
“Gifted” (2017) Starring McKenna Grace
2) Grade 11 will read 2 reviews of the film they selected, grade 12 will read 3. These need to be full critic reviews, and not the short reviews one would see on a comments section. Take note of the URLs of the reviews to cite them later.
3) Watch the film of your choice during the designated class time. There will be time given, please don’t watch it before the allotted time.
4) Document the key aspects on the list provided. If you missed one, it is better to search online than to not include it.
5) Write a critical analysis of your film. Minimum 500 words for grade 11 and 600 words for grade 12. The maximum number of words for both grades is 800 words and remember:
-Form paragraphs.
-include your opinion in the form of a thesis at the end of the introduction and throughout with carefully selected adjectives.
-Banned words list applies, contractions are permitted.
-Use the appropriate literary and media terminology as often as possible and appropriate
-Be concise with word choice.
-Check your grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, syntax so that your work is error-free
-Vary your sentence lengths to help with fluency
-Transition one paragraph into the next
-No title page is needed
-Citations needed
-Conclude as strongly as you introduced
