As should be evident from this module, not all deviant behavior is criminal or even undesirable. Mother Teresa’s life certainly deviated from the way most people live, but few would criticize her for her “deviant lifestyle.” What sexual, recreational, mental or other behaviors do you see as unnecessarily stigmatized by being labeled as deviant or criminal? How could society benefit by more tolerance of deviant behaviors?
