First written assignment is a critical thinking paper after reading the
article “of the 1%, by the 1%,for 1%”. (the article is found in the
link attached to this module). The critical thinking paper should be at
least three pages double spaced. Remember This paper is counted very
heavily in your final grade. Also, do not just analyze the article. Your
paper should be in an essay form and it should answer the following
questions. Do not write your paper as a Question 1, Question 2, etc. The
usual format of the paper is introduction,body and conclusion
1. What is the author’s Purpose in writing this article?
2. What is the key question or issue that the article is addressing?
3. What is the main inference(s) or conclusion(s) that Stiglitz is trying to lead us toward?
4. What data or information does the author use to argue for his conclusions?
5. What do you think the’ author’s point of view is—who is he? Is he biased one way or another by his background?
6. Finally, what is your reaction to the arguments, conclusions and implications?
