Explain how intersectional identities and their experiences might create barriers or serve as resiliencies/tools as they approach this goal.

In lieu of class on 8/11/2021, please view one of the two documentary films posted below, and then provide 1-2 paragraph answers to all of the prompts given. There are no right/wrong answers, but you will receive your Week 6 participation points based on: a) following directions exactly; b) directly referencing course concepts and specifics from the film. You are not required to use sources outside the film and other readings/resources covered in this course, but if you do, you must cite them. 1. What thoughts, feelings, and memories surfaced for you as you watched your film? What are some personal biases you might have about this topic? How might your own privilege, history of marginalization, or other pertinent personal factors affect how you might approach issues of food justice, housing justice, employment justice, or some combination thereof?

2. Pretend a person from this film lives in your community (or that of one of your teammates if in a group) and comes to you for counseling. Briefly conceptualize them using concepts used in this course, and identify one SMART goal (specific, measurable, accessible, realistic, timebound). Explain how intersectional identities and their experiences might create barriers or serve as resiliencies/tools as they approach this goal.

3. What are two (or more) real live resources in or near your community that you might offer them? Think about all aspects of wellness when making decisions – employment, nutrition, childcare, housing, healthcare, mental health/spiritual support, etc. Vet the resources you have chosen, provide a brief description of services offered along with any factors required for them to qualify, and provide contact information.
