How to form the Answer:
An answer will set out a stages model of urban development that focuses on the role and interaction of changes in intra and inter urban travel costs to explain the pattern/size distribution of cities in the
urban system. Answers should note that intra refers to people and inter to freight normally. The answer should then move on to high speed trains ideally giving a brief description of HS2. The rest of the
answer is speculative but key difference with model is that HS2 is for people travel between cities. Urban development could be limited to near new stations but it could have significant changes linked
to enabling longer distance commuting.
