Explain the relationship between Greek organizations and volunteering.

This essay is suppose to describe the long history of Greek lettered organizations and their involvement in community service

1.In the begging of the paper it will talk about Sororities and Fraternities in general, what they are and what kinds of things they do for the community. Explain the relationship between Greek organizations and volunteering. Explain the difference between Divine 9 (African American sororities and fraternities) and Multi-Cultural sororities and Fraternities.

2. The next step would be to focus on Divine 9 sororities and fraternities and talk about this idea of a lifetime commitment and service to the community. Why is community service so important to Divine 9 and why do they have a stronger commitment to civic engagement .

3. The next part of the essay talks about some theories that say that being apart of a D9 organization promotes a lifelong involvement in community service…research about two separate groups :

*college graduates who ARE apart of Divine 9 orgs

*college graduates who are NOT apart of Divine 9

And explain how their involvement in community service after college differs… for example ( are people who are apart of Divine 9 more likely to continue to be involved in community service after college, due to their “lifelong commitment “?
