Children’s Book Author or Illustrator Profile

Select a distinguished author or illustrator of children’s books that appeal to you.
• Locate and read three (3) books by the author or illustrator.
• Write a short paper or create a digital presentation such as a PowerPoint.
Requirements:
a. Write a short paper or create a digital presentation outlining the work of the author/illustrator,
including cover page, bibliography, and one (1) to two (2) pages that address the following:
1) the name of the individual, the date and place of birth (death), and why you chose them
2) three other facts about the individual (written in your own words)
3) three things about their work that you believe would appeal to children
4) three illustrations of or from the three books and a picture of the author/illustrator
5) brief bibliography consisting of three of the author/illustrators books. The bibliography must
follow this form: Last name, first initial. Year the book was first published. Title of book.
Publishing company. Recommended grade or age level. Follow this example (but do not use
Robert McCloskey).
McCloskey, R. (1948), Blueberries for Sal, Viking Books for Young Readers, Recommended age
level: 3-7 Grades PREK-K, 1-2.
