I’ve had a look through your report plan and provided some comments on it.
Good justification for the choice of city and the choice of broad theme to focus your report on and you have brought together some useful background and context about the city, air pollution in Seoul and South Korea’s ambitions to reach carbon neutral status by 2050. But don’t forget that the central element of your report should focus on identifying a specific initiative that you think the city could implement (not a review of one they are currently implemented or have implemented) and set out the smart and sustainable management initiative that you are proposing to implement. What does your initiative entail? What is the scale of your proposed initiative? What stake-holders will be involved? How would it be implemented – what would it involve/include? Who should do what? How long will it take to implement? What are other major cities doing to manage air quality and are there any elements of their strategies that you think could be adopted by Seoul or adapted for use in Seoul?
It should be an initiative that city has not implemented or is, as far as you are aware, not roposing to implement – so it should be a review of what the city is doing or planning to d, but something you think the city could or should be doing. For example is your proposed initiative that all ships using the Korean ports burn fuel with maximum Sulphur content of 0.10%? If so the focus of your report should be setting out how you think this could be implemented in Seoul – who would be involved in setting the regulation / putting the necessary legislation in place? How would it be implemented? Who would monitor implementation and compliance etc.? What time frame would be required to set it in place?
