This is part one of the project so the area of improvement can be anything as long as it is healthcare related preferrably in a hospital setting.
Course Project Part 1—Quality, Safety, and Performance Improvement Project
Many times in our own workplaces, we can see inefficiencies, unsafe practices, or areas that can be improved to save time or money or add value. Often, we are simply waiting for a chance to share our ideas with someone. This project is your chance to highlight an area in need of improvement at work that you feel strongly about.
Week 1 Tasks
This week, you will identify an improvement issue for study in your final project throughout this course.
Using the readings for the week and the South University Online Library, write a 2-page paper.
Cover the following:
Identify a quality, safety, or performance improvement issue to examine in your final project.
Explain the selected issue by applying the six standards of quality healthcare measurement and achievement as set by the Institute of Medicine (IOM). Describe how each of the six standards applies to the selected issue.
Be sure to support your statements with scholarly references and appropriate examples.
