Select any three (3) Case Problem* from any one of the that we will be studying this semester and prepare a one single spaced report and complete the following three items as to each of these three (3) cases in this report: [Note: You may select more than one case from any one chapter.]
What is the case about? (Answer in a brief concise summary no longer than 5 sentences.)
What practical legal suggestions did you learn from this case that would be of use to a business person or to an individual and their personal life? (Answer in one or two sentences.) (NOTE: An example of a practical legal suggestion is as follows: Make sure that all written contracts that you sign include all of the essential terms and all of the terms and conditions that you have verbally agreed to.)
How can this practical legal suggestion be applied in your own personal life or in the business of life of some employer that you worked for? (Answer in 3 to 4 sentences.)
You should summarize the facts in each case that you select.
FORMAT OF ASSIGNMENT:
Paper should always be typed in a single-spaced virus-free Microsoft Word file.
Papers should always have the following at the top of the first page of the assignment: your name, the assignment number, the date submitted, the course name, the course number, the instructor’s name, the case problem number and the page of the textbook where the case appears. No separate title page should be used.
All words should be spelled correctly and proper grammar and sentence and paragraph construction rules should be followed.
The following margins should be used – one-half inch on the top, bottom, right & left.
Copy the Assignment Criteria listed below at the end of the assignment even though this portion may be on page two but make sure that your name appears on page two if you have a second page.
ASSESSMENT CRITERIA FOR THIS ASSIGNMENT:
Is your case summary well written, clear and understandable? (75 points)
Did you answer the second question in such a way that it shows that you understand what practical legal suggestions are? (75 points)
Is your explanation in answering question number 3 clearly written, do you briefly explain the facts of the case so the reader understands your rationale? (75 points)
Are all three (3) cases discussed in separately numbered paragraphs and is each question as to all three (3) cases discussed in separately numbered paragraphs and did you follow the other assignment format requirements? (75 points)
NOTE: So that you know what is meant as a Case Problem from the end of a chapter of the textbook, examples of Case Problems from the 111h edition of the textbook would be Problems 17-1 beginning on page 427 of the textbook through Problem 17-8 on page 428.
