It is important to remember that while some effects of colonialism can be viewed as byproducts which we may enjoy (such as the development of new music, or exchanges and influences of food, art, philosophy, etc.), colonialism is ultimately a very damaging and traumatic process that continues on to this day. I hope this article brings in some new perspectives.
