Who are you as a writer? What do you want to write about?
This introductory essay will situate you in the writing community and establish your purposes and goals
for this course. Give the topic some thought and then write your honest expectations for yourself as a
writer and as a collaborator with your classmates. It will also give me a framework of your current
writing skills so I can assist you in your writing growth and with your research interests and needs. This
essay should be 500-800 words and is worth 25 points: 10 for the/ first task (Who you are”), 10 for the
second task (what you want”), and 5 for structure/organization and voice/mechanics/editi
