“Revisiting Your Expectations”
Please review your prior self-reflections and previous writing assignments from this semester. Analyze whether you have experienced any growth from your first, through your second to your third self-reflection. Look for signs of progress you made in your writing abilities, noting specific writing strategies you learned how to deploy to achieve your rhetorical goals.
In a time capsule letter format addressed to you describe what was most and least important about this course. Discuss whether you feel you have learned to understand the differences between academic and professional writing. Discuss whether you have learned the importance of following directions and writing clear, concise documents that address what you were instructed to do. Describe whether you have learned why it is important to understand your audience and to tailor your writing to your audience’s needs and expectations, including the presentation of material in a form easily understood by the reader.
Discuss whether you find peer review helpful from both perspectives. Be specific; provide examples, details, and descriptions from writing projects you created this semester, and explain your reasoning throughout this brief reflective essay.
You will be graded on the thoughtfulness of your comments, the quality of your reflection, and your description about whether you have made progress on any of the issues or concerns that you identified in your first and second reflections.
