Discuss the ways in which the business owner you researched is, or is not, an entrepreneur.

The individual entrepreneurship analysis is a critical reflection of the theoretical concepts and definitions of entrepreneurship, the origin of entrepreneurial ideas, the opportunities and the entrepreneurial mindset that is often a characteristic of an entrepreneur. Your analysis is based on secondary research. Headings and subheadings are allowed.

Your first task is to provide a critical review of entrepreneurship. Your critical review is based on synthesising readings from peer-reviewed academic journals, relevant databases, industry and government reports, websites and newspaper articles. Specifically, you are required to include the articles by López, et al, 2016 and Bouquet, et al 2018. Details of these two articles are posted on iLearn in Week 1 Readings. Your second task is to analyse the start-up and development of an entrepreneurial venture. This second task requires you to identify and select a business owner and conduct research regarding the individual’s entrepreneurial experience, knowledge and motivations. This person does not need to be Australian. Creativity in your selection is strongly encouraged.

Making use of your secondary sources, critically discuss the ways in which the business owner you researched is, or is not, an entrepreneur. Draw on concepts and theories to analyse the characteristics of your chosen business owner and the entrepreneurial journey. Consider the type of entrepreneurship this person practices, as well as the ethical and societal impacts their actions have had on a global scale.

Your analysis should include at least four peer reviewed academic journal articles to support your writing. The four articles include those mentioned as compulsory articles above. Be sure to use high quality journal articles from top-ranking journals, such as Journal of Business Venturing, Harvard Business Review, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Journal of Small Business Management, Small Business Economics, etc.
