Example:
This course supported the PRICE Model through multiple activities, discussions, and worksheets.
The professionalism was established with a tone of writing when we were completing our Resume in
Unit 2 Assessment. Further, we needed to demonstrate professional behavior, language, and skills for
our final Unit 7 interview process. Maintaining respect between our peers during discussions was
another way that the model was exemplified this semester. We had to have opinions for the topics, as
well as discuss our results from different calculators and activities in Units 4, 5, and 7. During responses
to peers, we needed to have a respectful response that was also engaged in the topic.
The course focused on the integrity of both self, and sources because we needed to support our
opinions or answers with research. If we are unable to do this, nothing is supporting our statements.
This would fault integrity, but because we were instructed to cite sources, in APA format, that gave our
topics strength, we supported this characteristic of the model. Further, we needed to check the box
upon submission that the work was our own, not plagiarized or copied, and by doing this we are
exemplifying integrity. We have to care enough to want to put in the work, to do it well, and to
genuinely grow and learn from this course. It is designed only to help us prepare for our futures, and this
applied to all majors, not just one in particular. This is beneficial, and all students were promoting a
sense of care for the content in the course. We cared about doing it right because in the end it only
helped us, and made us stronger job candidates. Finally, rounding back to engagement. Given all of the
content in this course, between discussions, RealizeIt, assessments, and activities, we as students were
able to be engaged in the topic and material. The professor posted recordings of the lecture and was
available for us to connect if we had questions, and this promoted a greater sense of engagement.
The course developed the skills that we will need in the future after graduation. It showed us the
skills to be utilized during the job search and interview process. By working on these skills in a safe learning environment, we can practice and learn so that we are better candidates when entering the
professional world. We are taught how to prepare our questions, as well as practice answering the
employer’s more common questions, with the feedback of our instructors and career counselors. Forbes
magazine recommends this in an article that they wrote regarding interview preparedness; practice
responses to commonly asked questions to promote professional and composed answers on the actual
interview day (Harroch, 2020). With this experience in our minds, we are better prepared and are less
likely to choke up or make errors that may cost us the position that we are applying for. By having a
smoother process overall, hopefully, the employer views us in a more positive and prepared light.
