Overview and Directions
Age-structure diagrams are a way to visualize populations by age and sex, and they allow us to make some predictions about population growth in a given region. In this assignment, you will interpret some age-structure diagrams of human populations in major world regions by completing a worksheet, then report your interpretations in a graded, quiz-like assessment.
To help you succeed in the assessment:
Review the content and language under “On Human Populations” in the Content Sources and Language headings above, particularly pages 176-177.
Download and complete the worksheet and PDF copy of age-structure diagrams from the 2014 World Population Datasheet.
