visit a country where women must always be veiled and are stoned severely if
their ankles are showing and if they are not wearing a veil. Moreover, they are
not allowed to vote. If they are caught in adultery, they are put to death in a
painful manner. How would you feel about these practice

affect whether or not you think you are ethnocentric and how you feel about
your possible ethnocentrism or lack thereof?

3. Suppose you are conducting research into
existing and emerging gender roles in a society such as the one described in
question #2 above. What kinds of issues do you think you might encounter with
